Andrea Mengucci, also known as “Mengu” by his friends, is a Magic pro hailing from Senigallia, Italy and and a member of Team CFBUltimateGuard.
Andrea first learned Magic as a kid back in 2004 at probably one of the most peculiar places to find Magic: the beach.
In all his years, Andrea’s favorite card has become emblematic of his love for control and Esper decks in general: Teferi, Hero of Dominaria. The five mana planeswalker was a dominant force in Standard back in Dominaria and has continued to see play ever since.
Like many other Magic pros and aficionados, Andrea’s favorite format is Cube, in particular Vintage Cube. When given the opportunity, he tries to draft it as much as possible with his friends.
In his expansive Magic career, Andrea’s proudest moment in Magic was winning the 2015 Magic World Cup, representing his beloved homeland of Italy and marks, in his words, his first big achievement in Magic.
Andrea’s passion for Magic has led to him dedicating most of his time to it, which he describes as his “only hobby” and something that has continued to stay fresh and new, never getting stale.
Through the years, Andrea’s most prized possession has become his own paper Vintage Cube, which is fully foiled. You can even see it below, sporting some stylish Ultimate Guard boxes!
