Martin learned to play Magic at a young age after he saw some of his classmates playing it. Once he learned, he built a beginner deck and ever since then, he’s been hooked.
For Martin, one Magic card has become representative of him: Juzam Djinn, and for an obvious reason - it has his name on it!
While Martin plays many formats, his favorite is Draft, with every deck and every Draft providing a different experience. In particular, Martin enjoys the skill-rewarding aspect of the Draft portion, with many small but important details rewarding those who pay attention to them.
Out of his long and expansive career, the memory that sticks out most for Martin is being inducted into the Magic Hall of Fame in 2017. In his own words, “it’s going to be really hard to ever top that.”
When he’s not playing Magic, Martin enjoys playing and watching Counter-Strike or Hearthstone Battlegrounds. He’s also an avid sports fan, often watching the NHL or Champion’s League in the background when he plays Magic. Martin also enjoys traveling, something that his Magic career has let him do extensively, although the coronavirus pandemic has definitely put a damper on his plans.
Martin is also the proud owner of a cat, Kropik, who can be seen modeling one of Martin’s Grand Prix trophies below.
