Deck Box Type
Deck boxes protect your cards from damage due to external influences and make it easier for you to organize your collection. They are also the most practical and secure way to transport decks to game nights with friends, your local game store, or tournaments.
Card deck boxes come in various designs, including differences in material, functionality, and appearance. In addition to classic deck boxes for one deck, there are boxes with extra accessory compartments, those designed for multiple decks, or those intended for mass storage of your collection.
In addition to quality, the capacity of the collectible card box is the most important factor for you. Unless otherwise indicated, deck boxes can hold cards of all common TCGs in standard size (e.g., Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Lorcana) and Japanese Size (e.g., Yu-Gi-Oh!). Before purchasing, make sure you are aware of what you want to store in the box and look for the appropriate size! A Blitz deck in Flesh and Blood will have different requirements for a deck box than a Commander deck in Magic: The Gathering, where you want to store 100 cards along with tokens and dice.
Your deck box should provide the best possible protection for your cards, with the material being secondary. In addition to a secure closure, high-quality collectible card deck boxes are primarily known for their stability, ensuring that your deck withstands even extreme circumstances. As for materials, various plastics are the standard, but there are exceptions. If sustainability is important to you, Ultimate Guard offers the RTE Boulder, which is made from up to 97 percent renewable resources (wood).
